(7-2-18 PLAN MODIFICATION TO PERFORM EXTERIOR CHANGES INCLUDING PAINTING THE EXISTING EXTERIOR STUCCO, PAINTING THE EXISTING WOOD TRIM AND FASCIA, ADDING PAINTED WOOD TRIM, AND ADDING SHOJI SCREENS TO EXISTING WINDOWS PER DRH18-00134. IN ADDITION, A GREASE DUCT WILL BE ROUTED THROUGH AN EXTERIOR WALL INSTEAD OF THROUGH THE ROOF. THE VERTICAL DUCTWORK UP THE SOUTH EXTERIOR WALL WAS APPROVED UNDER CZC18-00062.) The fire sprinkler system is used for fire area. Demolition work includes removing the existing restrooms, some interior shear walls, and interior finishes. To remodel an existing 7,504 square foot restaurant building for a new restaurant tenant. New shear walls will be constructed. Work relating to the shear walls includes concrete footings, wood stud, structural sheathing, drag strut, and hold downs. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. A new ground supported make-up air unit with new ducting on the roof will provide make-up air for the cooking exhaust systems. Work includes interior nonbearing walls, 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, a raised sleeper floor system at the restrooms, interior doors, a bar, a reflecting pool water feature, a planter, and finishes. Each table will have its own table top grill system with a downdraft grease hood and duct system. A total of 7 systems are proposed for the dining area (50 hoods total). Each system shall be provided with a fire suppression system. Exhaust fans will be provided on the roof. Horizontal and vertical grease ducts will have a two layer 1-hr fire-resistance-rated duct wrap system installed on the outside of the ducts. Existing grease hoods in the kitchen and their make-up air units will remain and will be reused. Existing roof top HVAC units for space conditioning will remain and be reused. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
