Description
(Project Management - Angie Brosious) (ANTHONY’S RESTAURANT – SIMPLOT OFFICE BUILDING ANNEX – 1ST STORY – EAST END) (DRH19-00292) The fire sprinkler system is used for high-rise. To remodel a 7,275 square foot area for a new restaurant on the 1st story of an existing high-rise building. Building shell and core work was constructed under permit BLD14-02173. The 2-hr fire-resistance-rated elevator shaft between the 1st story and the basement parking garage was constructed under permit BLD19-03024. The elevator and related systems will be installed within the elevator shaft under this permit. Some existing storefront windows and an existing concrete floor slab at grade will be removed to accommodate the construction of a new 257 square foot elevator and restaurant entry vestibule located below the story above. The elevator serves only the basement and is being provided for the convenience of those who park in the basement. For the new vestibule, work is to include concrete stem walls, a new concrete topping slab floor over structural rigid insulation, storefront windows, a double leaf storefront door, and an exterior wall with stone veneer. A new 418 square foot mechanical mezzanine with a 24” x 48” access panel will be constructed within this tenant space. The mezzanine will support a 6,600 pound air handling unit. Work is to include steel columns with steel base plates, steel beams, steel joists, and a concrete panel subfloor. The mezzanine floor and the supporting construction are required to have a 2-hr fire-resistance-rating. Added loads of all equipment and structural elements are required to be transferred to the supporting structure in such a way that no element of the existing structure will be overloaded. Tenant improvement work includes structural rigid insulation above the garage roof to support a concrete topping slab floor, interior nonbearing walls, 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, one single-user employee toilet room accessible to the disabled, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, kitchen equipment, grease hoods, grease ducts, an in-slab radiant floor heating system, a folding partition supported by a steel beam and steel columns with steel base plates, a new 12” high platform constructed of fire-retardant-treated wood and served by 2 ramps and a stairway with the concealed space filled with mineral insulation, interior doors, elevated and non-elevated drinking/dining booths, tables, chairs, millwork, and finishes. Special Inspection is required for steel (including bolting and welding) and for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. A beer cooler and condensing units will be installed within a 6 foot high chainlink fence enclosure with privacy slats in the basement. The fence will also be constructed under this permit. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
