The Fire Sprinkler Scope of work consists of providing shell protection to an existing building. The ceiling is constructed of 2”x12” wood joist on 16” centers with 5/8” type X Gypsum Board. Based on the drawings the joist space is less than <160 cuft. per channel. The ceiling is directly attached to the bottom of the joist. Therefore, a 3000 sqft hydraulics most remote area did not need to be calculated. The system is designed for Ordinary Hazard Group II utilizing a grid type lay out with pipe sizing of 3”x2½”x1¼”.

Contractor’s Note: The building permit has not been issued at this time. The building department may determine that changes are required to the building plans in order to meet code. These changes may affect the sprinkler system. The sprinkler contractor will be required to make all necessary changes that may be required. Therefore, if the sprinkler contractor chooses to proceed without an issued building permit they will do so on their own cognizance.


Building Department Scope:

To construct approximately 136 lineal feet of exterior CMU wall on the west side of an existing fire damaged building per approved plans and structural engineering. This building will be reduced in size from ??? sq. ft. to ??? sq. ft. Work also to include... NOTE: This building will be fully fire sprinklered under this permit for allowable area increase. NOTE: An Upgrade Agreement exists on file to sprinkler this building (prior to the fire) - see permit BLD09-02299.
