Talked with Bob weber, Design Engineer at HP for mechanical plans & Mechanical energy compliance. we reviewed the outside air design data on the plan & the use of Tble. 403.3, 2000 IMC for certain occupant load per 1000 s.f rather than an occupant load factor and the difference it would make in his desin. I also review the exception for Table 404.1 containted in section 403.3 if statistical data is provide under his design stamp as and engineer if applicable. he will look at the exception and the table and determine what he will present for showing code compliance.

Talked with John Hattan concerning data in lighting energy code compliance certificate and different values used within the same data. Will send me copy of ballast data used by designers to establish fixture wattage for code review.

Received letter from mechanical engineer, Bob Weber, presenting his statistical data for use to determine outside air requirements per exception 403.3 versus Table 403.3. Table 403.3, based on the category chosen by Mr. Weber, would require the OA to be based on an occupant load of 153 for the area being remodeled. Mr. Weber designed the outside are requirements based on an occupant load of 43 per the IMC (used occ. load factor of 60 divided into 2,553 sq. remodel area = 43 x 20 = 860 cfm OA vs. 60 occupant per 1000 s.f. = 2.55 x 60 = 153 x 20 = 3,060 cfm OA required. Mr. Weber points out that the occupant load for the area based on work stations shown on plans is 24. He designed for 43 occ. load. almost twice what the designed work space will have. This space is also open to the adjoining spaces, separated only by 62" movable partitions already existing test areas.
I reviewed data with Marlene Southard explaining what is proposed & the common atmosphere with adjoining areas. We will accept the statisitcal dat from Mr. Weber based on the indicated occupant load and his professional status as a mechanical engineer. The request is stamped, signed and dated by Mr. Weber.
