To replace an existing required manual fire alarm system. The new fire alarm system will be installed per current codes as an "E" occupancy, which will require a manual fire alarm system. The building is not sprinklered and does not meet "area" under IBC. The separation between the "E" occupancy and the rest of the building is only one hour, therefore separation does not apply and the manual system is required throughout the building.
The associated building permit (BLD 03-02875) is to include new insulation and interior finish at exterior walls, new interior walls, new interior doors and windows, new suspended ceiling areas, new hard lid ceiling and attic insulation, new soffit, interior finish, new counters/cabinets and a sink, new mechanical including new HVAC rooftop unit, new plumbing, and new electrical work. A Certificate of Occupancy is to be issued when completed and approved. NOTE: This building is NOT fire sprinklered.
