(THE BARNYARD DAYCARE – NEW BUILDING) (DHR18-00250 and DHR18-00521) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and fire flow. To construct a new 12,620 square foot building (14,214 square feet total including 1,594 square feet of canopy area) to be used as a child daycare. Grading and soil compaction were done under permit GRD18-00074. Work is to include concrete footings, concrete stem walls, concrete piers, concrete slab on grade with thickened areas at interior bearing walls, wood stud exterior walls, wood stud bearing walls, wood stud shear walls with wood structural panels and hold downs, engineered wood trusses, two mechanical attics (no storage allowed), wood roof sheathing, insulation installed below the roof deck with the void space above the insulation vented to the outside and an air barrier on the warm in winter side of the insulation, wood columns and beams, wood awnings, exterior doors, exterior windows, stone exterior siding, fiber cement panel siding, corrugated metal wall panels, asphalt shingles, interior nonbearing walls, interior accordion partition adequately supported by trusses, 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled per child dimensions, 2 multi-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled per adult dimensions, 2 single-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled per child dimensions, 1 toilet room not accessible to the disabled, 1 toilet room with a bathtub accessible to the disabled per child dimensions, a kitchen with a vertical coiling door at a service counter, interior side-hinged swinging doors, interior pocket doors, interior windows, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings, millwork, decorative trusses, acoustical wall and ceiling panels, and finishes. Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, and for post-installed anchors in hardened concrete. The building includes an 850 square foot attached 3 car garage with overhead doors. Exterior work includes a wood framed trash enclosure with concrete footings, foundations, and slab on grade. Fences with gates having panic hardware will be constructed around exterior play areas. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department for an I-4 Occupancy. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
