(STOR-IT SELF STORAGE – BUILDING #4) (DRH17-00528) (12-3-19 PLAN MODIFICATION TO ADD AN EXTERIOR METAL AWNING OVER THE OFFICE ENTRY AND TO ADD A CULTURED STONE WAINSCOT VENEER TO THE NORTH AND WEST EXTERIOR WALLS OF BUILDING #4. THE INSIDE OFFICE COUNTER WILL BE ROTATED AND ADDITIONAL WINDOWS PROVIDED NEXT TO EXTERIOR DOORS. NEW SHEAR WALLS WITH HOLDDOWNS WILL BE CONSTRUCTED TO ALLOW LARGER WINDOW OPENINGS IN TWO EXTERIOR WALLS. THE TOILET ROOM IS REQUIRED TO BE AVAILABLE TO ALL OCCUPANTS OF THIS COMPLEX AT ALL TIMES.) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To construct a new 4,730 square foot self-storage building with 23 individual self-storage units (187 square feet each) and one office area (291 square feet). Two self-storage units will be accessible to the disabled. The office area, including the toilet room, is required to be accessible to the disabled. Only the office area will be conditioned and have an insulated thermal envelope. This building is one of five buildings on this site. Work is to include concrete footings; minimum 4” thick concrete slab on grade thickened at roll-up doors and at exterior walls; steel stud bearing and shear walls; steel shear panels; post-installed anchors in hardened concrete; steel exterior siding; steel roof purlins; steel beam above the office area to support purlins; steel box headers at doors; steel strap roof braces; steel drag struts; steel roof panels; metal gutters; a 2-hr property line wall; a toilet room accessible to the disabled; interior and exterior side-hinged swinging doors to serve the office; and roll-up doors. The 3-hr interior fire wall between this building (i.e. Building #4) and Building #5 was permitted under BLD18-04291. Special Inspection is required for soils, for concrete, for structural steel (including welding and bolting), and for post-installed anchors in hardened concrete. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. **CJW**
