(UNION BLOCK BASEMENT) **NO OCCUPANCY ALLOWED UNDER THIS PERMIT. TENANT SHALL APPLY FOR CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY PRIOR TO OCCUPYING THE SPACE. ** The fire sprinkler system is used for story and area increase. To remodel the entire basement level and lower the basement floor 3’ to increase ceiling height for basement tenants. The existing basement has a ceiling height of 7’ and will be increased to an approximate ceiling height of 10’. Work in the basement is about 14,270 square feet and includes removing the existing slab, providing new support at interior structural walls, columns, and east/west exterior walls and providing a new floor slab. The light wells have been permitted under BLD18-01664. SPECIAL INSPECTIONS are required for fabrication, structural steel, concrete, post-installed concrete anchors, soils, and welding. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. The fire alarm system needs to be maintained because the B Occupancy occupant load of the 2nd story exceeds 100. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **JHB**
