The fire sprinkler scope of work consists of protecting a new school which is being converted from an existing strip. There are two building. This is building two. There will be two new 3” dry pipe systems with above and below protection. Some of the above protection will be combustible concealed spaced sprinklers.

[BLD16-00161] – This project also being done in conjunction with BLD16-00124 on same set of plans. Remodel of existing 9,800 sq. ft. office/retail building into a new educational charter school with classrooms, a gym and office spaces per approved plans. Work to include seismic upgrade from Risk Category II to Risk Category III, new interior walls, interior finish, fire sprinkler work, fire alarm work, plumbing work, mechanical work, and electrical work.

24 hour air test passed. Also draft stops have been fixed. Piping can be covered.

An overhead 24 hour air test was started at 9am with pressure marked on the guage. Piping can be covered in the low ceiling rooms except for the room where the FDC drops down due to the draft stop for the CC2 heads. This draft stop exceeds the 1,000 square foot requirement and by relocating the draft stop heads may be effected. As-builts still need to be submitted to plan review.

The overhead hydro passed and rough to cover inspection failed due to the draft stops obstructing the CC2 heads. Also the floor plan does not match and the inspectors test is not shown so as-builts are needed for the next inspection and also for the plan reviewer.
