Three fire sprinklers are to close to the ceiling fans, at least 36 inches is required. Five of the dry sidewalls on level 1 are to close to the deck, sidewall heads need to be 4 to 6 inches down from the ceiling.

Rough to cover inspection for overhead fire sprinkler piping complete, approved for cover.

Todays inspection was for the second floor. I noted that the piping and pendant heads had not been installed where shown on the plans. This caused heads to be overspaced off walls, blocked by walls and located too close to each other in many locations. I also noted that the insulation needs to be "pocketed" around the piping to the dry sidewall heads in many locations and it also needs to be placed above the piping in several locations. I also noted a lack of coverage in the lobby area on the second floor and the first floor that Jim Danes is going to address. Also additional fittings have been added in to the gridded system that will need to be verified with hydraulic calculations to the plan reviewer.

Check head spacing throughout project to veirfy proper distance from walls. Hangers will need to be adjusted/added throughout project. FDC piping will need to be completed before FDC can be covered. Cover for overhead fire sprinkler piping is not approved.
