Todays inspection was for the majority of the project. I could only pass acouple of small areas where the piping could be covered. These areas have been marked on the city approved plans. All other areas have been installed differently from the approved plans. This includes additional fittings at the bottom of the riser, in feed mains, in riser nipples and branchlines. Sprinkler heads are overspaced in the rear storage area where new 2" piping is installed. Ten upright heads over the storage area at the front of the building have not been installed yet. The 4" feed and cross main at the front of the store have been rerouted. Plans and hydraulic calculations need to be resubmitted showing all of the changes and as-installed piping.

The inspection was for the new dental area. The plans show three extended coverage pendants in this area but standard coverage have been installed instead. I was ok with this since it is not a remote area and coverage seems adequate. The problem is two wood beams have been installed above the ceiling where the upright protection has been removed. Sam Ball, myself and the general contractor talked about options.

See the city approved quick permit plans for specific areas that are ok to cover such as the stairs and a small soffit. The ceiling t grid neds installed so that pendant placement can be verified. Also on the second floor mechanical room an existing pendant head is now blocked by a new plumbing pipe and also on the second floor a wall has been built that forms a combustible concealed space that will require protection.

Inspection performed by tim. Per tim there was missing piping, sprinkler heads, branchline restraints........ect. Only the south 1/3 of the building was inspected as requested by fire sprinkler contractor and as directed by the job superintendant. No piping can be covered until re-inspection.

Sprinkler piping is ok to cove in units 105 and 205. Resubmittal are needed since the pipe sizing and routing have changed and feeds the remote area. I have marked the "as installed" size and routing on the city approved plans. I let the sprinkler fitter know that If ceilings and piping need to be removed due to the resubmittal plans that is the burden of the contractor.
