Plume reported in Boise River Tuesday 10/27. Site inspection conducted at 4 PM. Investigated site with SWPPP coordinator for McMillen- Jacobs ACHD SWPPP Inspector.

Leak from river was going through cofferdam structure blocking off area of box culvert location, filling the area of work with water. To stop the leak the exterior lining on the dam was extended and more earth material added to the dam, which caused some turbid discharges of sediment down river during the activity. Turbidity was meaurred and is reported in the SWPPP daily report. SWPPP coordinator stated the turbidity did not reach reportable levels.


Inspection of the area of concern did not reveal any active plumes into Boise River and no BMP failures were identified. The rest of the site is in good condition, trackout and perimeter controls are working well. Dewatering system is still treating water passing through site and ground water being pumped.

No corrections. Site has fixed problem and has reported the corrective action.

2:30 PM site meeting and walk through for winterization

Slopes will be tackified. Road shoulders are to have landscaping installed which will assist with sediment control. Upper area along HV Road to be bermed off in addition to a temporary drainage ditch. This area will also be hydro-mulched. This portion of project should be winterized within 2 weeks.

Work complete and home is occupied. Front bank is still revegetating under ECB. Will continue to monitor while adjacent home on Castello is under construction. No issues.

No recent activity at site. Site perimeter wattles are installed and a hillside vegetation has established well in cleared perimeter areas. No trackout on site. No material or chemical storage at site at this time, no stormwater pollution risk detected.

Some rills and gullies within site retaining walls will need repair before vertical construction, but no sediment/dirt is leaving site.

Permit sign posted on site. RP and I conducted walk through. Wattles listed on ESC plan for perimeter control are only required at the toe of slope at edge pavement on Painted Rock.

Adjacent stockpile will be utilized for some backfill. DI bag installed in front of lot is less that 25% capactity. Somerset 3 active projects in good condition. RP stated two small material stockpiles will be hauled of this week. Concrete washout located in upper section.

Home is near completion with some interior work ongoing. Vegetative perimeter has been preserved and boulders left in place, keeping surrounding area quite stable. No erosion rills or gullies observed, no trackout or trash issues at entrance.
