Discussed service change needed for the addition of solar to shop. ELE17-03542 for solar. Meter main to be installed on shop and subfeeding 200 amp shop panel in garage and subfeed house off garage panel. Only chase between shop and house is an unused 3" plumbing ABS pipe. As long as wiring method is rated for direct burial ABS ok to use. A pull box or gutter to be installed at floor level in garage and at house so ABS is not use as exposed electrical raceway. No splice below 18" inside garage. Old fused panel in garage to be turned into a junction point for shop circuits. Not rewiring or adding wiring to shop area all existing wiring ok to remain. At house panel location over landing on stairway the 30" by 36" work space present. This was verbally communicated. A grounding electrode system, disconnecting means and seperation of grounds and neutrals shall be complete at house.

110.26- Minimum work space shall be provided for panel board. 30" wide 36" deep. Panel in basement located behind framed wall ith studs 16" on center.
300.4- Where cables are run thru bored holes that do not maintain 1 1/4" from framing surface they shall be protected ftom physical damage by nail plates. Marked by X.
314.29- Boxes located behind framed wall. Box in net panel and box located below net panel shall be accessible.
330.12- MC shall not be installed wher subject to physical damage. Corners cut MC may be damaged when drywall installed.
330.30- MC shall be secured with in 12" of a box.
Contact stated general contractor had conversation with electrical inspector about workspace issue and inspector OK with not providing work space. Will address issue with 375 when he returns.
