Some issues noted during the project related fire sprinkler cover inspection include: missing electrical supervision of the main control valve for the existing riser-see fire code review note #21, also verify system is current with an annual certification-see note #17, complete protection for the basement per NFPA 13 shall be provided-see note #13- per NFPA 13 2007 sec. 8.6.7.1 sprinklers shall be required in all ceiling pockets unless exceptions 1-7 are met per 8.6.7.2 including item (2) depth of the unprotected pocket does not exceed 36" and item (7) quick response sprinklers are provided throughout the compartment. See also project related fire alarm permit FIR09-00418 review comments items #19, and 6,7, 12 regarding locations of smoke and heat detectors, in particular item #11 referencing NFPA 72 2007 sec. 6.16.4.2 stating heat detectors used for elevator power shut down shall be placed within 2ft of each sprinkler head and be installed per requirements of Chapter 5.
