I spoke to Art about the International Fire Code requirements 1008.1.3.4. After consulting with Scott Arellano it appears that since these doors are not for the general public these doors can be secured where as Item 6 of this section does not allow securing of the doors if they are for the general public. Art and I agreed to meet after lunch.

I went over the three options for the sprinkler control valves with the job superintendant which were PIV, wall PIV or a one hour rated room. He stated that they were probably going with the wall PIV.
