Discussed type of lighting used for plenum above a 1 hr fire rated ceiling. All penetrations shall have at least a 1 hr fire rated box installed and all wiring installed in plenum area shall be plenum rated. Halo recess cans do ot have a fire rating. Contactor looking at a small LED surface mount luminaire that mounts to 2 hr rated remodel electrical box.
