FIR06-00811 INSP-Alarm Testing9/24/20079/24/20079/24/2007 12:38:53 PMPFAIL
The fire alarm panel, after testing between two to six room detectors will automatically silence the sounder bases. I do not know if the panel silences all building alarms. Also the data from one of the tenant rooms is being corrupted by the time it is received at the facp and is causing "wave form" errors at the facp. I spoke to the Pyrotronics technical support and they believe that the silencing problem could be a logic/programming issue. They need to view the program to tell. I stopped the inspection out of concerns that if it is a hardware issue all of the items tested would have to be retested when a new panel is installed. Just to make a note when the main fire alarm panel is reset it takes nearly 7 minutes to return to normal. It also takes around 15 seconds to activate the sounder bases in the rooms. I was told this is due to the size of the system and a slow processor in the fire alarm panel. I spoke to Sam Rogers about these concerns. This entry has been made under this permit only due to none access to the other permits because of their being in the "review status"

Boris just needed occupancy for the upstairs area which was going to be alowed per a previous agreement with dave hanniman. Life safety items are ok upstairs except for the exit signs and emergency lights that need to be installed and or repaired. I told boris I could not give him a sign off on the upstairs portion until these items were done.
