The undergournd supply piping and the remote FDC piping is ok to cover except for either end since thrust blocks and vaults had not been installed yet. The PIV is being installed rather close to the parking lot curbing. I spoke to Dave Hanniman and did a on site visit. At this stage of the installation it does not look like the PIV will be in danger of being struck by a vehicle which is daves concern. Randy Bowron spoke to Chris Palmer with ESI about the concerns with the actual placement of the curbing and where it needs to be.

I stopped at the job site and spoke to Ryan. This inspection was for a cover of the remaining piping. I did not give approval since the dry system piping iinstallation has been modified to provide correct protection at the roof elevation transitions; no plans for the modification were on site. This redesign effects the hydraulic calculations, siesmic calculations, volume of the dry system which could effect air compressor sizing and trip times. Approved resubmittals are required prior to cover or the contractor needs to meet with the Boise City Fire Dept. to make other arrangements for cover.

The underground piping for the remote FDC and the hose station can be covered except for both ends since thrust blocks, drains and vaults had not been installed yet. As-built plans need to be submitted showing the the positions of the two lines being switched and the remote hose station being relocated to the south.

See the city approved plans for locations of deficiencies which include insulation at the deck which is hanging down and blocking the upright sprinkler coverage. Also fire extinguishers are missing and or have outdated inspection tags. A suite number is needed as well.
