I stopped by the project to verify wether the sprinkler system had been left in service per code requirement. I found a large pile of sprinkler piping including pendant drops, sprinkler mains, earth quaking and hangers in a pile just outside of the main entrance. I was unable to access the interior of the building but could look through the lobby glass. From what I could see there appears to be no sprinkler protection in the lobby area and it also appears that there is part of the open sprinkler system still hanging from the structure just inside of the lobby area

Inspection/FIRE/LIFE Safety: Fire Sprinkler system required to be maintained in service. Sprinkler System was disconnected and no fire protection throughout! Commercial Fire Protection Co. was the contractor which removed the fire sprinkler system under owners verbal direction. Commercial Fire Protection did not obtain a FIR permit.
