This building permit is for the addition /extension of a 2-level exterior deck/balcony to an existing townhouse. The original deck area consists of 2-decks one above the other at 112s.f. each. There will be a total addition of 371s.f. of which 167s.f. is added on the upper level and 204s.f. on the lower level. This new structure is to extend across the property line 3'-6" as granted through a modification by the Building Official to the 2003 IRC Section R302.1. The Planning Division granted the addition by CUP05-00103. A letter from the applicant's geotechnical engineer indicating that the footing subgrade is acceptable must be approved by Public Works prior to scheduling a footing inspection.
