TO EXPAND SCOPE OF WORK BY REMOVING EXISTING MAIN ENTRY CONCRETE STAIRS & RAILS ON THE WASHINGTONN STREET SIDE; REMOVE APPROXIMATELY 3" OF LANDING AND FIRST STEP FOR NEW WATERSEAL & CONCRETE OVERLAY TO TIE INTO NEW STAIRWAY. INSTALL STRUCTURAL STEEL CHANNELS, ANGLES AND DECKING TO SUPPORT NEW REINFORCED CONCRETE STAIRS PER SUBMITTED PLANS AND ENGINEERING. SPECIAL INSPECTION REQUIRED FOR ANHESIVE AND MECHANICAL ANCHORS PER MANUFACTURE'S ESR REPORT. REINSTALLED HANDRAILS TO COMPLY WITH CURRENT CODE. DRS Remodel to seismically strengthen the auditorium building per approved plans and structural engineering design. Work to include select interior demolition at ceiling and floor at three floors and roof structure serving and a part of the auditorium, balcony seating area; to remove exterior exit stairs on both sides that served the balcony seating and create an exit corridor to serve the third floor balcony area to access existing interior 3rd floor exit stairway systems. Add steel columns, beams, cross-bracing at roof, adhesive anchors and through bolts, steel straps, wood blocking and specific nailing at perimeter floor repair to facilitate seismic strengthening of the auditorium area in accordance with structural engineer evaluation design of upgrades using the 1994 UCBC Appendix Chapter 1 as the design guide for this historic structure. All mechanical fasteners shall be installed per the manufacture's instructions and structural engineers directions. Special inspection is required for epoxy & mechanical anchors per specified ICC Evaluation Services Reports, manufacture's installation instructions, structural engineers specifications; welding; high strength bolts; to repair portions of ceilings and floor sheathing removed for upgrade and miscellaneous finishes per the reviewed plans. Any modifications of fire sprinkler or alarm systems require separate applications, plans and permits as regulated by fire department before work can be done. Electrical, plumbing & mechanical work requires separate trade permits attached to this building permit. drs
