(HEWLETT PACKARD BLDG 4) Construct a 620 sq. ft. mechanical platform of steel beam, columns & grate on reinforced concrete slab with thickened footings at the NW exterior corner of the building for new HVAC equipment to service the new 560 sq. ft. UPS room and 240 sq. ft. communications room on the first floor and add new HVAC units to serve the existing communications rooms on the 2nd & 3rd floor. Special Inspection is required per Sheet S-00100. Perform select interior demolition of existing mech. and elect. service to UPS & communications rooms; construct 1-hour fire barrier around new UPS room with opening & penetrations protected; add new electrical equipment in existing electrical room and modify doors to swing out with panic hardware and upgrade sprinkler & alarm systems as necessary for code compliance at new work construction. Separate sprinkler and alrm permits are required before any modifications can be done, all as regulated by the fire department. drs
