(LAUNDRY ROOM RELOCATION) - This building IS NOT sprinklered. Relocate residential laundry facilities to the existing 300 sq. ft. basement area of an existing two-story, five-unit apartment building, all per reviewed plan, with attached plan review comments as part of the approved plans. Construct new 1-hour fire-resistive walls to create a 70 sq. ft. room for washer & dryer connection installation (plumbing & electrical). Construct a 1-hour fire-resistive horizontal floor/ceiling assembly, U.L. Design No. L515, to separate from the residential unit occupancies above. Remove existing door from top of stairs at landing to widen access/egress path; construct frame wall adjacent to upper landing to separate residential area from basement area. Add light fixture and switching for new laundry room; a handrail along one side of existing stairs. The new door, door frame, and door hardware from laundry room to adjacent areas of basement are required to be a minimum ¾ hour fire rated, self-closing or automatic closing, tested & labeled, fire door assembly. Openings and / or penetrations of 1-hour fire partitions and horizontal assembly are to be protected for code compliance. Separate electrical & plumbing permits are required. drs
