(BASQUE CENTER - ELEVATOR ADDITION) This building does not have a fire sprinkler system. To construct a masonry elevator shaft with a concrete pit within an existing Assembly building. The elevator shaft will connect 2 stories, the 1st story and the basement. The elevator shaft is required to comply as an enclosed 1-hr fire-resistance-rated shaft. The elevator will provide a route accessible to the disabled to and from the basement. The elevator is required to comply with ASME A17.1-2007 as a passenger elevator and is required to be fully accessible to the disabled as defined by ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003. Special Inspection is required for concrete, masonry, welding, and epoxy anchors. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire alarm system installed in conjunction with the new elevator is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. This is a scope of work permit and does not establish a new Certificate of Occupancy for this building. The proposed work does not affect the existing egress system or established occupant loads. **CJW**
