(CAPITOL CITY EVENT CENTER – 2ND STORY – ADELMANN BUILDING) The fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistance-rated construction. Application for inspection to determine the requirements for the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for a 5,800 square foot tenant located on the 2nd story of the Adelman Building. This tenant will occupy the entire 2nd story and will be an event center. The assembly occupant load of 169 is based on tables and chairs. The allowed occupant load may be increased up to 216 when some rooms have chairs only and no tables. The main entrance will be at grade from Idaho Street and then up an open interior stairway to the 2nd story. The elevator is required to be available to the public during times the 2nd story tenant space is open to the public and available to employees at other times. One means of egress is to an enclosed stairway located in the Northeast corner of the building that leads to the alley. The other means of egress is down the open interior stairway in the Southeast corner that leads to Idaho Street. Security measures are NOT allowed to obstruct the egress system or to obstruct the accessible route for the disabled to and from the 2nd story. No new work is authorized under this permit, except for minor work required for code compliance. Compliance with the items listed in the plan review report under Code Notes is required because noncompliance with these items is believed to constitute a distinct hazard to life or property. No change of occupancy classification is allowed under this permit. A separate permit is required to install security grills or to remodel this space. The fire sprinkler system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW**
