THE AREA OF THE BASEMENT ENCLOSED BY A 2-HR FIRE BARRIER WALL WILL BE ENLARGED.) The fire sprinkler system is used to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistance-rated construction of the building. To create a code compliant egress path from a 598 square foot basement assembly room leading to an existing enclosed 1-hr exit stairway from the basement. Work is to include lowering the floor along the new egress path, creating new openings in two masonry bearing walls, installing new beams, lengthening an existing beam, placing new concrete footings, placing concrete retaining walls, and placing new concrete floor slabs. The area of excavation and new concrete will be about 725 square feet. New steel lintels with steel jambs will be installed at the new wall openings in the existing masonry bearing walls. The tenant improvement work will be done under permit BLD15-03403. Special Inspection is required for post-installed anchors in concrete (e.g. expansion bolts, epoxied rebar) and for welding. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
