(ST ALPHONSUS CT SCAN AREA – 1ST STORY – SOUTH TOWER) Fire sprinkler system is required because this is a high-rise building. To remodel the existing 1,235 square foot CT scan area located on the 1st story near the center of the South side of the South Tower. Work is to include a restroom accessible to the disabled, interior nonbearing walls, interior windows, lead shielding, interior doors, millwork, and finishes. Except for a new door in an existing smoke partition, no fire barriers, smoke barriers, or smoke partitions are affected by this remodel. A new doorway will be created in an existing masonry wall that is also a smoke partition (i.e. I-2 corridor). Steel headers and jambs will be installed. Adequate gravity load transfer is required and shall be verified. An existing opening in the same wall will be filled in. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
