Description |
(BODYBUILDING.COM – SUITE 109 – NEAR CENTER OF BUILDING) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for fire area. Application for inspection to determine the requirements for the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for a 2,321 square foot storage tenant space located near the center of the building. Egress from this tenant space is directly to the outside at grade. No new work is authorized under this permit except for minor work that may be needed to correct noncompliant conditions that may exist. Racking that exceeds 8 feet in height requires a separate Building Permit. Painting, carpeting, counter tops, and similar finish work are not required to have a permit. Existing keypads are installed on some of the doors, on the restroom core side, between the restroom core and the tenant space served. The keypads are used to control access from the restroom core into a tenant space. To mitigate the hazard of someone being locked within the restroom core and not being able to get out, provide a telephone within the restroom core with the telephone numbers for each of the tenants and the telephone number for the property management company posted at the telephone so that assistance can be requested if the keypad code number is forgotten or not known. A hallway may be required from the restroom core to the outside in the future to provide a Building Code compliant egress system. The use of a key is allowed for access from a tenant space to the restroom core. The key shall be provided at the restroom core door on the tenant side of the door. A sign shall be provided identifying what the key is for. In addition, compliance is required with the items listed in the plan review report under Referenced Code Sections because noncompliance with these items is believed to constitute a distinct hazard to life and safety. **CJW**
