(ADA COUNTY – MORRIS HILL ROOF REPLACEMENT) The fire sprinkler system is used for story increase and for building area increase. To re-roof the entire 24,793 square foot roof of an existing 2 story building (about 21,189 square feet upper roof, 2,104 square feet area lower roof, 433 square feet lower roof, 184 square feet lower roof, and 883 square feet canopy). To completely remove the existing roof covering of the entire building to the plywood roof sheathing. Damaged roof sheathing will be removed and replaced with new materials. Existing roof top mechanical equipment will be removed to facilitate the new work and then reinstalled. Some roof mounted condensers will be relocated. New work includes wood stud cripple walls (12”, 18”, and 21” tall) constructed around the entire perimeter of the roof to accommodate thicker roof insulation with new pre-finished metal exterior siding installed on the exposed side, 2x6 kickers at 8 feet maximum on center to brace the top of the new cripple walls to the roof, new rigid insulation, new roof crickets created using rigid insulation, roof drains with adjacent overflow drains or suppers, mechanical unit curbing, mechanical housekeeping platforms, a skylight curb, a new single ply TPO roofing membrane with a protective walkway surface at maintenance traffic areas, a roof access ladder, and a fall protection rail at an existing roof access hatch. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the manufacturer’s installation instructions, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to be maintained in compliance with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. CJW
