(MOON’S CAFÉ – RESTROOMS AND REDUCTION IN SIZE – UNION BLOCK – 1ST STORY) (4-5-17 PLAN MODIFICATION TO REVISE THE LAYOUT OF THE TWO NEW RESTROOMS TO PROVIDE ACCESS TO THE EXISTING HALLWAY.) The fire sprinkler system is used for building area increase and for story increase. To reduce the size of an existing restaurant by removing about 380 square feet of dining area and to construct two restrooms accessible to the disabled (about 115 square feet total). After the proposed work, this restaurant will have a total floor area of about 2,563 square feet (115 square feet restrooms, 672 square feet dining room, 64 square feet circulation area, and 1,712 square feet serving counter, kitchen, and work room). Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, restroom doors and fixtures, interior nonstructural infill walls, and restroom finishes. Structural work includes a steel header and steel jambs at a new opening in an existing masonry bearing wall. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
