(OCHOS – HISTORIC PAULSEN BUIDLING) (DRH15-00187) (9-6-17 PLAN MODIFICATION TO EXPAND THE AREA BEHIND THE BAR AT THE WINE BAR BY ABOUT 80 SQUARE FEET. WORK IS TO INCLUDE A BAR COUNTER AND BACK BAR EQUIPMENT AND FIXTURES. STOOLS AT THE BAR ARE NOT ALLOWED TO OBSTRUCT THE REQUIRED MINIMUM AISLE WIDTH.) The fire sprinkler system is used for story increase and to allow an A-2 Occupancy fire area on the 2nd story. To create a new wine and coffee bar with limited food preparation and service within an existing 3,359 square foot assembly building – 5,027 square feet including the basement (1,668 square foot basement, 1,717 square foot first floor, and 1,642 square foot second floor). Cooking operations that create grease or grease laden vapors are not allowed. Work is to include a 78 square foot walk-in cooler in the basement, wall furring at exterior walls on the 1st story, interior nonbearing walls, back bar equipment, kitchen equipment, and finishes. Structural work includes replacing a masonry bearing wall with a wood stud bearing wall. Special Inspection is required for welding and for anchors post installed in hardened concrete. A seismic upgrade was done under permit BLD01-01634. This building was converted to an assembly use under permit BLD15-01919. The new interior landing at the Idaho Street main entrance door and the restrooms were constructed under that permit. A fire sprinkler system was installed at that time. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. This permit is intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for this tenant. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
