(BELMONT PLAZA – STRUCTURAL CHANGES – OLD KMART – NORTHWEST CORNER) (CZC17-00130) The fire sprinkler system is used for unlimited area of the building AND to allow 3-hr fire barrier walls in lieu of fire walls. The fire sprinkler system is NOT allowed to be used for building area increase for A Occupancies. Additional shell and core work was done under permit BLD17-01449. To remove existing interior masonry bearing walls and nonbearing walls and to install new beams, columns, and headers to support the roof above an approximate 5,000 square foot area in the Northwest corner of the building. Work is to include new and expanded concrete footings, steel columns, steel beams, wood beams, new openings in exterior masonry walls with steel headers and steel jambs, and exterior masonry wall infills. Special Inspection is required for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete and for welding. This permit is not intended to establish a Certificate of Occupancy for any tenant or for any portion of this building. Occupancy will be established under a future tenant improvement permit. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
