Application for inspection to determine the requirements for the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for an existing 1,892 square foot tenant space to be used for retail sales. Egress is directly to the outside at grade. No new work is authorized under this permit except for minor work that may be needed to correct noncompliant conditions that may exist. Painting, carpeting, counter tops, shelves, and similar finish work are not required to have a building permit. Compliance is required with the items listed in the plan review report under Referenced Code Sections because noncompliance with these items is believed to constitute a distinct hazard to life and safety or to discriminate against the disabled. This 1,892 square foot tenant space was part of a former “Radio Shack” tenant space having a total floor area of about 3,350 square feet. No other areas of the former “Radio Shack” tenant space, except for the common restroom core, are approved for occupancy under this permit. Those other areas are required to get their own Certificate of Occupancy before occupancy. A separate permit is required for racks over 8 feet tall. Access to the common toilet rooms for employees and for customers is required.
