(13 PERMITS IN EPLAN UNDER BLD19-00526) (BUILDING F – VILLAGE EAST APARTMENTS – RESIDENTIAL) (PUD18-00042) (DRH18-00528) The NFPA 13-R fire sprinkler system is used for occupancy and for story increase. To construct a 43,220 square foot, 4 story apartment building (10,805 square foot 1st story, 10,805 square foot 2nd story, 10,805 square foot 3rd story, and 10,805 square foot 4th story) with a total of 36 dwelling units (9 on each story). Because there is an elevator in this building, all dwelling units on all stories are required to comply as Type B dwelling units (1 is also required to comply as Type A). Work is to include concrete footings, concrete stem walls between conditioned and unconditioned spaces, concrete pedestals, concrete slab on grade with thickened slab at interior bearing walls and R-10 perimeter slab edge insulation between conditioned and unconditioned spaces, concrete elevator pit, 2x6 walls between conditioned and unconditioned spaces with R-20 cavity insulation and R-3.8 continuous insulation, wood columns, shear walls with gypsum panels or structural wood panels and hold downs, an unconditioned 1-hr fire-resistance-rated corridor on each story, two unconditioned 2-hr fire-resistance-rated exterior stairways, a 2-hr masonry elevator shaft, 1-hr dwelling unit separation walls between dwelling units, draftstops in the attic, 1-hr dwelling unit separation floors between dwelling units, engineered wood truss roof system with a structural wood panel roof deck and R-49 insulation installed on top of the ceiling with the attic vented to the outside, roof overbuilds, ladder and roof hatch to access roof top heat pumps, exterior windows, interior doors between conditioned and unconditioned spaces, exterior cementitious lap siding, exterior brick veneer, exterior stucco, guards, handrails, asphalt shingles, 3-ply roofing membrane at flat roof areas, roof drains and overflow drains, interior millwork, an elevator, and interior finishes. Special Inspection is required for masonry. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The design for the engineered wood trusses is a deferred submittal item. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13-R and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
