(ST. ALPHONSUS OUTPATIENT MEDICAL CLINIC – 1ST STORY REMODEL) (DRH19-00518) The fire sprinkler system is used to substitute for a fire rated corridor. To remodel the 6,608 square foot 1st story of an existing outpatient medical clinic where no one is incapable of self-preservation. There is no remodel work proposed in the existing 1,208 square foot basement except for HVAC and plumbing work. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, interior wall infills, gypsum board installed directly to the underside of roof trusses to create a compliant air barrier, four single-user toilet rooms accessible to the disabled, interior doors, exterior windows, suspended acoustical ceilings, gypsum board ceilings and soffits, millwork, and finishes. Structural work includes removing a load bearing wall and installing beams and columns in its place (concrete footing, tube steel columns with steel base plate and anchors to concrete, and steel beams). Special Inspection is required for soils, concrete, steel (including welding and bolting), and for anchors post-installed in hardened concrete. The work is required to comply with the approved drawings, with the structural design, with the plan review report, and with all applicable codes and ordinances. The fire sprinkler system is required to comply with NFPA 13 and the fire alarm system is required to comply with NFPA 72 as regulated by the Fire Department. Separate fire sprinkler permits and fire alarm permits shall be obtained prior to beginning any modification or installation work on such systems. **CJW**
