(9TH STREET WAREHOUSE RENOVATION & ADDITION) Fire sprinkler system used to substitute for 1-hr fire-resistive construction. To complete shell and core improvements to an existing historic building. A 2-hr area separation wall will divide the building to resolve allowable building area issues. With the additions, the North half will have a 14,211 sq. ft. basement, 16,408 sq. ft. 1st floor, and 13,763 sq. ft. 2nd floor. The South half will have a 14,100 sq. ft. basement, 8,308 sq. ft. first floor, and 14,983 sq. ft. 2nd floor. Work is to include an addition and a below street level plaza on the North. Three elevators, a mechanical penthouse, a 2-hr area separation wall, 1-hr corridors, and ten (10) restrooms accessible to the disabled are proposed. All work shall comply with the approved drawings, engineering, and plan check conditions on file. The owner shall employ the engineer responsible for the structural design, or another engineer designated by him, to perform structural observation as defined by 1994 UBC Section 220. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13 as regulated by the Fire Department. This permit does not establish a Certificate of Occupancy. Each individual tenant must independently apply for their own Certificate of Occupancy. Demolition work is covered under BLD97-3148. DRH#86-96 PC-550-97 **CJW**
