Received text from kevin at ###-#### asking if #4/0 SER is ok to use to feed 200 amp panel in garage off 200 amp meter main with 8 to 16 spaces. The 200 amp service will serve all of the load associated with entire residence as per 310.15(B)(7) so #4/0 SER OK to use. Called contact and left message.

Discussed service change needed for the addition of solar to shop. ELE17-03542 for solar. Meter main to be installed on shop and subfeeding 200 amp shop panel in garage and subfeed house off garage panel. Only chase between shop and house is an unused 3" plumbing ABS pipe. As long as wiring method is rated for direct burial ABS ok to use. A pull box or gutter to be installed at floor level in garage and at house so ABS is not use as exposed electrical raceway. No splice below 18" inside garage. Old fused panel in garage to be turned into a junction point for shop circuits. Not rewiring or adding wiring to shop area all existing wiring ok to remain. At house panel location over landing on stairway the 30" by 36" work space present. This was verbally communicated. A grounding electrode system, disconnecting means and seperation of grounds and neutrals shall be complete at house.
