2) MC stubs above ceiling grid shall be safed off in boxes and blanked off
3) low votage wiring shall be strapped up off ceiling grid
4) next ceiling grid inspection that fails will result in a reinspection fee...have inspected same area twice already

Discussed existing wiring of Target store. Contact concerned about the absense of equipment grounding conductors in conduits and the use of multi wire branch circuits through out store. EMT conduits are still an approved method for providing equipment grounding system as per 250.118. Multi wire branch circuits at time building was built had been a popular method of wiring. Due to the increase in electronic lighting and equipment multi wire branch circuits are not used as much today because of the possibility of an over load the grounded conductor. As long as installed as per 210.4 multiwire branch circuits are still use today. All existing wiring can remain as is in building as long as violations are not present and new wiring shall be installed to 2017 version of NEC.
