Service is overhead mounted on garage with 200 Amp feed through lugs to main breaker panel in basement of residence. Retaining walls need to be built on both sides of the property before the underground conduit can be installed between the buildings. Kitchen counter top outlets will be installed in the bottom of upper cabinets. Please perform rough-in inspection and permanent service. Customer does not like the idea of having to install outlets on a buffet countertop that is part of the kitchen countertops and has requested a conference with the inspector. Contractor is driving from Emmett therefore any time after 830 AM would be great. Inspector please call David Mackey to coordinate the meeting. 210.52(C)- All countertop areas in kitchens, pantries, breakfast rooms, dining rooms and similar areas of dwelling units, Receptacle outlets for countertop and work surfaces shall be installed in accordance with 210.52(C)(1) thru (C)(5).
Plan for dining room is to have approx. 6' of flat wood countertop at 36" above floor between 2 full height cabinets. Owner does not want receptacle outlets installed above this counter space. Explained for fixed cabinets minimum code shall apply, portable furniture code does not apply.
