DetailsAndy J. Long
Follow up inspection conducted to check on condition of water in drainage channel at south end of site where work is occuring.

The filtering/settling system set up by McAlvain appears to be working well. The water downstream from filter wattles and check dams does not have visibile sediment, though an official turbidity sample was not taken.

Workers onsite were improving the BMPs around the channel. When the culvert put in, the water will be temporarily diverted to a pond in the center of the site and water used for fugitive dust control and other purposes.

No corrections at this time. Project is taking correct actions to prevent sediment from leaving site via the drainage channel.

Lusk Place project is grubbing and preliminary grading the site with valid permit. The drainage channel against the bench is to be covered and put under ground.

There was a concern of lack of BMPs for activities related to the drainage ditch and turbid-sediment laden water being sent downstream.

I inspected the site with RP Jose from McAlvain. He has set up a series of 4 settling chambers on sections of the ditch to settle out sediment while operations are occuring. The chambers are made with rock and filter fabric, and some gatorguards weighed down by rocks.

No background turbidity for the ditch is possible, however Jose is to take a turbidity sample tomorrow morning. Need to check into destination of ditch.
