Removal of 5 out-of-use underground storage tanks located underneath a parking lot on corner of 5th and Idaho. Work to be done by Asbestos Abatement for Park Partners, LLC. ESC plan and narrative submitted by MTI. Existing pavement not located above USTs will be preserved. Each tank will be removed one at a time and placed on the excavated soils above that tank for cleaning by "dry cleaning" methods, so no discharges are expected. Soils will be backfilled if found to be uncontaminated, or will be removed offsite for proper disposal per Federal and State guidelines if contaminated. BMPs include scheduling (work only during dry conditions) and street sweeping once complete. No DIs in vicinity. Work expected Nov.14 - 20th.
