COLE VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL - To install a new fire alarm panel and system within an existing school. The preliminary design for this system layout was approved under FIR00-00534. Proposed work includes replacement of the existing fire alarm panel with an upgraded model which can support the required new alarm devices. Replacement of a fire alarm panel requires a review of the entire existing alarm system and upgrade of existing deficiencies to meet current code. A letter of intent to upgrade the existing alarm system deficiencies over a two-year period was approved by the BCFD 10/13/2000.
The new alarm system is designed to include required offsite sprinkler monitoring, a manual alarm system, partial area smoke detection, and a/v annunciation within Area 1, which is phase 1 of the upgrade agreement, and to connect to all existing devices in Area 2. No modifications are to be made in Area 2, which will be upgraded at a later date, per the approved upgrade agreement.
