TOUCH AMERICA (BOISE POP) - To add 7 new area smoke detectors to provide required offsite monitoring of smoke detection in the Touch America battery area. The detectors are to be connected an existing voluntary building fire alarm system which currently monitors only duct detectors for HVAC air handler shut down.The building permit (BLD00-00498) is to remodel a 1,174 square foot room on the first floor of an existing office building. The room will be used as a fiber-optics equipment facility (control room and telephone equipment room). Outside, the work is to include a backup generator, two condensing units, and an exterior concrete equipment pad. Inside, the work is to include two air handling units, an interior unistrut grid, a UPS lead-acid battery system, a 2-hr shaft to the roof, and miscellaneous equipment. This building is not fire sprinklered.
