(CHINA BLUE BAR - SHELL) To extend an existing fire sprinkler system (in a partially sprinklered building with an upgrade agreement) for the remodel of an existing 18,348-ft/2 building for a new bar. (5,565-ft/2 basement, 8,006-ft/2 first floor, 4,777-ft/2 second floor) Work also includes related fire sprinkler work for new structural, a new enclosed stairway shaft from the basement to the first floor, two new stairways from the first floor to the second floor, floor modification on the first and second floors, a restroom and interior nonbearing walls. The building is fire sprinklered for story increase and because the fire area exceeds 5,000 square feet and the occupant load exceeds 300. The fire sprinkler system shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department. All fire sprinklers and related appurtenance within this permit work scope shall meet current NFPA 13-1999 standards, comply with the IFC-2000 and attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, in order to provide witness verification of compliance in meeting minimum code standards.
