Ada County Jail (Pod C Housing Unit Addition) - To install a new wet (overhead) fire sprinkler system in a new a 36,175-ft/2, two story, jail expansion. This is called the Pod "C" Housing Unit addition. It includes cells, laundry facilities, mechanical room and connecting exit corridor, constructed of concrete masonry units, concrete floors and steel roof joists with metal roof deck. Pod "C" is separated from the remainder of the facility by a three-hour fire-resistive firewall. This building is designed as an I-3 Occupancy, Condition 4. First floor 23,275-ft/2 (including the exit corridor) Second Floor 11,900-ft/2. The fire sprinkler system work shall comply with IFC 2000, attached review comment and conditions list, as regulated by the Fire Chief. These notes, permit and fire "Inspection Card" are required to be on site as a condition of this work, to provide witness of compliance verification of minimum code. The underground fire service supply was permitted under FIR03-00317. This permit is attached to building permit: BLD03-000686.
