The associated building permit (BLD 03-0686) is to construct a 36,175 square foot, two story, jail expansion. This is the Pod "C" Housing Unit addition. It includes cells, laundry facilities, mechanical room and connecting exit corridor and related site improvements. This expansion is constructed of concrete masonry units, concrete floors and steel roof joists with metal roof deck. Pod "C" is separated from the remainder of the facility by a three-hour fire-resistive fire wall. This building is designed as an I-3 Occupancy, Condition 4. First floor 23,275 sq. ft. (including the exit corridor) Second Floor 11,900 sq. ft.. This addition is fully fire sprinklered. All construction per the approved plans and attached comment list.
