To provide door hold-opens with required smoke detectors (for door release) to the corridor doors north of the nurses lounge (31217) and smoke detector and fire fly release on the elevator door. The existing required manual fire alarm system includes sprinkler monitoring, HVAC shutdown, fire/smoke damper control, door release, elevator recall/shutdown and notification only throughout section of 312 of the third floor in the south tower of St. Al's. An upgrade agreement has been generated to defer any upgrades in area 311 and the nurse's station (31216) until BLD04-01245 is implemented.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-00055) is to remodel a 3,985 sq. ft. portion of 3rd floor east, north side of south tower hospital area labeled as Unit 312 on plans; to modify interior finishes and cabinetry; relocate equipment used for and relative to the Pediatric Nursing Unit to the second floor east, south side, being remodeled for new PNU under BLD04-00056 and to make this floor area into Orthopedic Surgery Nursing Unit; replace ceiling tile over nurse station area; remove patient room tubs and install showers with one of the showers complying with accessibility; relocate existing lockers to Nurses Lounge 31217 and upgrade electrical and plumbing to meet tenant needs and comply with minimum adopted codes and ordinances relating to this project scope. 7/15/2004 - Was submitted with FIR04-00281 (2nd floor), as two building permits were issued based upon the remodeled spaces, two fire alarm permits were issued. Upgrade agreements and construction time limits forced the packages to split. FIR04-00281 was issued in June. The upgrade agreement for this fire alarm permit was approved on 7/8/04 (Dave Miller, Boise Fire) and 7/13/04 (Sam Rogers, PDS/Fire). This is the second submittal for this permit.
