Description |
1/27/2005 - To upgrade the fire alarm control panel and associated floors as required for a highrise in the IFC. Per the upgrade agreement, the 1st, 3rd, 8th floors (tenant and cores) and penthouse will be completed by March 31, 2005. The elevator controls and penthouse were completed under this permit number, 9/1/2004. The 3rd floor was completed under FIR04-00645 (finaled; 11/24/2004). The 3rd floor drawings show the modifications (smoke detectors for door release and two-way telephone jacks, for fire service use only) that will require testing.
The new fire alarm system will be code compliant with IFC 2000 and NFPA 72, 2002.
FIR05-00048 is associated with building permit (BLD 03-02347) is to remodel a 7,279 square foot area within an existing whole floor (17,050 square foot) office tenant. A demolition permit (BLD03-02473) was issued earlier. A portion of the existing 2-hr fire barrier that functions as a horizontal exit is being modified. Work is to include interior nonbearing walls, suspended ceilings, interior doors, and interior finishes all per the approved drawings and plan review report on file. The location of fire sprinkler heads shall comply with NFPA 13-1999 as regulated by the Fire Department. **CJW** (QWEST - ONE CAPITAL CENTER - 8TH FLR) This building is fire sprinklered because it is a high-rise.
The original fire alarm upgrade agreement will be superseded by a new fire alarm upgrade agreement. (Jeremy Malone, 336-4781, is the contact for the agreement). At this time, the elevator controls have been upgraded and require the code compliant elevator recall/shutdown per NFPA 72. (Dave Miller, BFD, agrees that the alarm portion needs to be completed.) The fire alarm hardware will be connected to the existing Cerberus FACP to expedite the elevator upgrade. The expectation is that the elevator controls will be included in the initial phase of the fire alarm system upgrade.
This permit will include the elevator control upgrade and the fire alarm components defined to be installed during the first year of the revised fire alarm upgrade agreement. The write up will be split between each portion for general comments and resubmittal items and titled with the date of the review.
The original upgrade agreement will be scanned and attached to this permit in Tidemark. The revised upgrade agreement will also be scanned and attached to this permit in Tidemark.
There is no associated building permit.
