To upgrade the existing fire alarm system. A manual fire alarm system is required throughout the building due to the M over 500 occupancy load. The required manual fire alarm system shall include manual pull stations (as shown on the plans) HVAC shutdown and notification (visual and audible) throughout.

The associated building permit (BLD 04-02767) is to perform INTERIOR REMODEL ONLY to selective portions of an existing 52,0252q ft building. ALL EXTERIOR WORK WILL BE DONE UNDER A SEPARATE PERMIT. Work will include demolition of existing partitions to expand the retail area of this building. Also will include construction of interior nonbearing partitions, installation of a suspended ceiling system. Installation of a breakroom sink and new janitors sink. This building is fully fire sprinklered for area increase, any alterations or modifications to the sprinkler system shall be per NFPA #13 as regulated by the fire department. Sample tubes are incorrect. The holes in the tubes as installed are 10" apart. Per Mark at Silent Knight tech support the holes on the 2.5 should be 2" o. c. and the 5.0 and 10.0 should be 3" o.c.

Pull stations are mounted too high, duct smoke detectors do not shut down the units and the remote annunciators don't work. Several duct detectors are mounted incorrectly and the sample tubes are incorrectly orientated. The strobes in the coolers and freezers need the listed backboxes to be installed which is part number WBB from System Sensor.

a/v's need to have heights and cd ratings checked on all devices and then tested. Need to test all duct smoke detectors. Need to test fire sprinkler devices. The rolldown doors have been removed from the fire alarm system.

Fire alarm contractor and the electrical contractor where unable to provide a voltage meter to measure standby battery requirements and did not have a telephone butt set for verification that two phone lines had been provided. I stopped test. No items inspected.
