DEMO - The old system was left in place to monitor existing smoke detectors until the entire building had been sprinklered. There is a new FACP for sprinkler monitoring and all items associated with the monitoring requirement (i.e. fire pump, etc.) The actual scope of this permit is for the removal of all fire alarm items associated with the old system, including the panel. There are smoke detectors that are in the attic space that the owner would like to abandon in place. I agreed that he may be able to do as long as he posted on the access doors into the attic that the smoke detectors located in that space were non-functional. The PDS Fire Inspector to field verify all "visible" components of the old system have been removed (see attached sketch). Provide a revised building map to the inspector (that contains the required functional initiating fire alarm device locations only). No written comments.
